Mike Adamek,PCIM Director of Hockey Operations
Mike has been involved in hockey for over 25 years. His playing career included: 4 years at NCAA Division 1 Lake Superior State in Michigan, 4 years of Junior A hockey in the USHL and NAHL and nearly 100 professional games with the Boise Steelheads, Utah Grizzlies and Tulsa Oilers. Mike has a passion for coaching youth hockey and has been coaching at the Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels for over 10 years.
Mike was head coach for the 16U Tier 2 team and head coach for the 10U Travel team during the 2021-2022 season.
Tom Anderson, PCIM Director of Player Development
Tom Anderson was born and raised in Brighton, MI. He started playing hockey when he was 4 years old. In high school, Tom had the honor of being named to the all-state team and representing Team Michigan for two years. In addition, he played as Captain on his Brighton High School team in Michigan which won the D1 State championships.
Tom played for the Fargo Moorhead Jets (NAHL) for a year and was Head Stick Handling Coach for Competitive Edge Skating in Michigan.
Tom has a total of 16 years as a private instructor in Michigan and Utah. He has been with the PC Ice Miners for seven years as head coach of 12U and 14U teams.
Tom was co-head coach for the 14U Tier 2 team during the 2022-2023 season.
George Chalos, PCIM Board Member
Originally from Oyster Bay, NY, George was a member of the University of Vermont men’s hockey team. While attending law school, he worked for the New Jersey Rock-n-Rollers and Long Island Jawz professional roller hockey organizations. George coached and was a Board member for the Long Island Gulls Tier I youth hockey organization for 19 years before founding the Sharks Elite Hockey Club in 2011. He was also the Head Coach and General Manager for the Junior Islanders and NY Bobcats junior hockey teams before acquiring the Long Beach Sharks (NA3HL) junior hockey club in 2017 where he serves as the President and Director of Hockey Operations.
Locally, George is the associate coach for the University of Utah Men’s D-1 hockey, is a PCIM Board member, and the director of the Park City Sharks Elite programs.
In addition, George is the founder of the Next Shift Youth Sports Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization, geared towards raising funds to provide young athletes in need with athletic and academic scholarship opportunities.
George was head coach for the 14U D1 team during the 2021-2022 season.
Laurel grew up in Casper, WY and started playing hockey at age 6. Laurel played hockey throughout childhood, while watching her father coach her older brother's team. She played four years of varsity girls hockey at Phillips Academy (Andover, MA) and was team captain her senior year. Laurel went on to play hockey for three years at St. Lawrence University (ECAC). During this time Laurel coached at several Wyoming and Montana camps and was an assistant Mini-Mites coach.
After college Laurel attended law school in Washington, DC and played for adult hockey leagues, the National Institute of Health team, and an all-women's travel team based in DC. In 2004, Laurel moved to Denver, CO where she played for the adult hockey league at the Promenade in Westminster and an all-women's travel team. In 2016, she moved to Louisville, KY and played for an in-house women's league and a women's travel team. She was team captain her final year before moving to Utah in 2019. While in Kentucky, Laurel coached for two Nashville Predators Learn to Play Hockey programs.
Off the ice, Laurel has been practicing law for twenty years and currently serves as an in-house counsel to a gaming technology company.
After playing at the highest level of AAA and Junior, and spending time with the US national development program, Ryan began his coaching career. Ryan brings a wealth of experience to the program, both as a player and coach. He recognizes the value of having a strong work ethic and strives to develop this trait in his players while maintaining a fun, competitive environment. Ryan believes the foundation for learning and improving begins with great communication and he has proven every year, his ability to develop young players and prepare them for the next level.
For the 2021-2022 season, Ryan was head coach for the 12U Travel team.
Matt grew up playing youth hockey in the Philadelphia area. Matt played defense for Bishop Shanahan High School and played competitive hockey in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland areas. Matt attended East Stroudsburg University and majored in Hotel Restaurant Tourism Management. His love for the mountains brought him west to Park City where he has lived for over 10 years. Matt is currently the Ice Program Coordinator at the Park City Ice Arena, combining his love of hockey and his degree in management. Matt continues to play hockey in the Park City Hockey Leagues and Drop-In Hockey.
Matt wants to teach kids about proper sportsmanship, team play and leadership, all while having FUN. He hopes that the skills the players learn both on and off the ice will lead to them becoming better individuals overall.
For the 2021-2022 season, Matt head coach for the 10U D1, 8U and 6U teams.
Cal has coached and supported several PCIM teams. He was most recently the head coach for the 12U D2 team during the 2021-22 season.
Ryan Reese has been skating and playing hockey for over 30 years. He grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada where he started skating at the age of 14. By the age of 17 he was playing AA hockey for the Las Vegas Flames. Ryan also played for many other league teams, including the Las Vegas Aces (PSHL) and the Las Vegas Hookers (MWHL).
Ryan started coaching after moving to Park City and having kids. He is a level 4 certified USA Hockey coach and has coached many different levels from 6U to 14U. He has been an Ice Miners coach for the past six years. He was the 10U Travel Assistant Coach during the 2021-22 season and the 14U D1 Head Coach during the 2020-21 season.
For the 2021-2022 season, Melissa was assistant coach for the 12 D1 team.
For the 2021-2022 season, Tim was assistant coach for the 12 D1 team.
