Tryouts are required for Tier 2 and Travel Teams. Tryouts are not required for Recreation League Division 1 and Division 2 teams, however, PCIM strongly recommends that players interested in D1 participate in tryouts. D1 players are evaluated and selected by coaches from the tryouts participants (first priority) and the Recreation League sign-ups (as space allows). Depending on the number of participants, D1 teams may be filled during the Travel tryout process.

2021-2022 Program Charter
- Players are expected to attend ALL ice sessions.
LOCATION: Weber Ice Sheet, 4390 Harrison Blvd, Ogden, UT 84403. The PC Ice Arena is closed in August for maintenance.
REGISTRATION IS OPEN:
Space is limited. Registration is required for all players seeking placement on a team, regardless of whether they are present.
To register, go to www.pciceminers.org
and select the yellow “REGISTER NOW” button. Cost is $50. You must have a current USA Hockey number.
84-PLAYER LIMIT: Registration is capped at for each age group. If registration numbers hit the maximum allowed players before the first session starts, walk-ins will NOT be accepted. We also ask that players do not sign-up just to get some "extra ice-time"; we would like to keep tryouts spots open for players who truly want to play for a Park City team.
PARENT MEETING: Parent meetings for each team will be held at the rink during tryouts. Coaches will be introduced and discussion topics will include costs, travel, commitment and what to expect. Meeting times will be included with check-in materials.
TEAM SELECTION: Team selections will be announced ~45 minutes after the last skate on Sunday, August 22. Team lists will be posted at the rink, emailed and posted to our web site. Parents at the rink may take a picture of the list. We ask that they exit rink before they share the results with their player(s). Players assigned to D1 teams may also be announced at that time.
UYHL DIVISION 1 & DIVISION 2 TEAMS: There are no official tryouts, but PCIM strongly recommends that players interested in D1 participate in tryouts. D1 players are evaluated and selected by coaches from the tryouts participants (first priority) and the Recreation League sign-ups (as space allows). Depending on the number of participants, D1 teams may be filled during the Travel tryout process.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR 12U/ 10U TEAMS
How will tryout check-ins be run?
Check in information and online forms will be sent 1-2 weeks prior to Tryouts. At check in, players will be given a red practice jersey (if they do not already own one) and a pinnie. Players are assigned to a locker room. Coaches will assist players in locker rooms if help is needed with equipment.
What will the tryout process look like?
Players will be randomly split into teams. Ice sessions will be a combination of skills/small-area games and scrimmages.
My player only wants to play Division 1 (D1) level hockey. Why should my player participate in Travel Tryouts?
D1 players will be selected by coaches from the Travel tryouts participants and the Recreation League sign-ups, with first priority given to Travel tryouts participants. There is a chance that all D1 positions will be filled prior to the Recreation League sign-up period. PCIM strongly recommends that players interested in D1 participate in tryouts.
How many D1 player spots will be available after Tryouts?
The number of D1 player spots remaining after tryouts, if any, depends on several factors including the number of tryouts participants, the skill level of participants and whether a Travel team is formed for a given age group. This varies year to year.
If my player is selected for a Travel team, how much time do we have before a commitment decision is required? What happens if my player decides they don’t want to play for the Travel team?
Team selections will be announced approximately 30 minutes after the last skate and commitment information will be emailed to parents. A $500 team commitment deposit is required by Tuesday, August 24 at 11:59 pm or the player’s spot will be released. We ask that parents notify us as soon as possible to allow PCIM to extend the spot to another player.
Will my player need to order a new uniform this year?
Yes, if you are new to PCIM. No, if you played for PCIM last season. Only 14U and 16U teams are required to order new uniforms for the new season.
