Excerpt from 2021-22 Season Charter

14U - UYHL Division 2 (Beginner to Intermediate)

  • Registration opens in August
  • Season length: Mid-October through the UYHL season-end tournament in March
  • Ice-time:
    • Practices*
      • 20 hours of practice.
      • 2 practices per month will be skills/power skating/goalie focused run by the specialty coaches.
    • Games*
      • The number of games are determined by the number of D2 teams in the state of Utah.
        • Approximately 1 home and 1 away game with other URL teams in the same division
        • UYHL Tournament (3+ games)

*Ice hours are tracked for each team by the PCIM Ice Scheduler.   Ice is managed so that each team reaches their allotted hours in the charter for practice ice and games by the end of the season.   Although we try to keep the weekly schedule as consistent as possible, team ice times can vary week to week due to games, tournaments and other events at the ice rink.   Ice time is purchased throughout the season and is updated in the schedule.  See page 4 of this Charter to learn how to access your team’s schedule.

  • Coaching/Team Manager
    • Head Coach: TBA
    • Assistant coaches: TBA - volunteer parents
    • Manager: TBA – volunteer parent(s).  If you are interested in being the team manager, please contact the Director of Hockey or Yvette Connely. 
  • Fees
    • Season fee per player: $650.00
    • Coaching fees, ice-time, tournament/game fees, practice jersey, cotton practice socks, and management costs are included in the season fee.
    • Travel costs, such as gas, lodging, meals, etc., are not included in the season fee.
    • Uniforms: Each player is required to have a reversible game/practice jersey and a pair of reversible nylon socks for the season.  If a player does not own a set from last season, they may purchase a set when they register for the season on our website. Reversible jersey - $85; reversible socks - $35.  The uniform sizing chart can be found on our website under Documents>>2021 Uniform Sizing Chart.
    • Team equipment bags will be offered for sale 3 times during the year (July, September, and October).  These bags are optional.  Cost: Junior- $75, Player - $80, Goalie - $90.  An announcement will go out when the website opens.

14U - UYHL Division 1 (Intermediate)

  • There are no official tryouts for D1. But, D1 players will be evaluated by coaches from the player pool of travel tryouts and the recreation league sign-ups.  14U Travel tryouts are held in June.
  • Season length: October through the UYHL season-end tournament in March
  • Ice-time:
    • Practices*
      • 40 hours of practice.
      • Many practices will be ADM-based.
      • 2 practices per month will be skills/power skating/goalie focused run by the specialty coaches.
    • Games*
      • Approximately 30 games
        • The number of games UYHL games are determined by the number of D1 teams in the state of Utah.  Approximately 1 home and 1 away game with other D1 teams in the same division
        • UYHL Tournament (3+ games)
        • Approximately 4 tournaments (12+ games); up to 2 out-of-state tournaments

    • 14+ skaters and 1 or 2 goalies

    • Season fee per player: $2050.00
    • Coaching fees, ice-time, tournament/game fees, 1 practice jersey/1 pair of cotton socks, and management costs are included in the season fee.
    • Travel costs, such as gas, airfare, lodging, meals, etc., are not included in the season fee.
    • Players may try on uniform size samples at tryouts.  If chosen for the team, uniform sizes must be entered at the time of registration and paid for when paying the deposit to hold the player’s position on the team. 
    • Team uniforms are required for all players.  Items that are required that are NOT included in the season fee:  Red and white game jersey - $65 each, reversible nylon socks - $35, shell pants - $60, embroidered team jacket - $75.  Team pants, work out shirt/shorts and custom team gloves are offered for purchase, but not required.  The uniform sizing chart can be found on our website under Documents>>2021 Uniform Sizing Chart.
    • Team equipment bags will be offered for sale 3 times during the year (July, September, and October).  These bags are optional.  An announcement will go out when the website opens.
    • $500 deposit is required within 48 hours of being selected to hold a position on the team.

14U - UTL (Intermediate)

  • There are no official tryouts for 14U Travel. But, 14U Travel players will be evaluated by coaches from the player pool of 14U Tier 2 tryouts and the recreation league sign-ups.  14U Tier 2 tryouts are held in June.

  • Ice-time:
    • Practices*
      • 60 hours of practice.
      • 2 practices per month will be skills/power skating/goalie focused run by the specialty coaches.
      • Off-ice training is not included in the team fees this season.  Off-ice training programs will be offered by Wasatch Sports Factory in Park City.  Information will be provided at a later date.
    • Games*
      • Approximately 30 games
        • Approximately 12 in-state exhibition games
        • Approximately 6 tournaments (18+ games); many tournaments will be held out-of-state.

14U - Tier 2 (Advanced)

  • Tryouts are held in June
  • Season length: September through the end of the state playoffs (and the USA Hockey Youth Nationals if applicable)
  • Ice-time:
    • Practices*
      • 66 hours of practice.
      • 2 practices per month will be skills/power skating/goalie focused run by the specialty coaches.
      • Off-ice training is not included in the team fees this season.  Off-ice training programs will be offered by Wasatch Sports Factory in Park City.  Information will be provided at a later date.
    • Games*
      • 36+ games
      • 6 tournaments (included in game total); mostly out-of-state tournaments

    • Players may try on uniform size samples at tryouts.  If chosen for the team, uniform sizes must be entered at the time of registration and paid for when paying the deposit to hold the player’s position on the team.
