BLACK TIE DINNER, AUCTION & GALA
More than 43 years ago, Jan Peterson and his staff at JANS created the Winter Welcome to help support the Park City Junior Ski Program. Their goal was to raise money so that more families in Park City could afford to have their children involved in ski racing.
The Youth Sports Alliance (YSA) was established after the 2002 Olympic Winter Games to increase the number of children participating in all winter sports programs in Summit and Wasatch Counties. JANS asked the YSA to organize JANS Winter Welcome for the benefit of all local winter sports teams. YSA remains committed to providing tangible need-based financial assistance to young people in our community— whether making their first tracks or aspiring for their first Olympic Team. Each year, we engage 3,700 young people in our community through our afterschool programs, need-based scholarships, and fundraising support of local winter sport clubs.
JANS Winter Welcome sells out every year with 400 of the most prominent Park City citizens gathering to socialize, dine on Stein Eriksen Lodge’s award winning cuisine, bid on auction items, and meet local celebrity athletes. Most importantly we raise more than $650,000 to support teams and YSA afterschool programs.
